Bridge out! Road closed! Fun outside our front door!

Having fun this weekend, the road is closed outside as they are working on 2 bridges at once!

One bridge is having its footpath replaced that should have been done in 1982! The other is having its regular 5 year lift as it is a temporary bridge over a railway bridge that needs regular checks.

Cranes are ready to go on both as soon as the last trains have gone through, so hopefully from 1.30am ish til 6am ish they have to get all the work done, and should get some night shots of some interesting stuff!

Whilst they are waiting for the trains to clear the workmen were busy cutting up the old foot bridge that was removed last night (with only 1 minute to spare before the trains came through!) so decided to get some 'firework practice'

So, whilst waiting for the 'show' thought I would post my favourites so far!

By coincidence I've just got home after trying to drive down that very road! Didn't realise the bridge work was going on so had to turn around and go back the way I came. Never thought of it as a photo op! Half tempted to get back in the car and come join you now, the other half is tempted to go to bed though so unlikely to happen...

Love the shower of sparks on the last one by the way, good work fella!

I love these shots, so crisp that it feels that I'm actually there.
Great colours with the yellow against the dark backgroup and all lit by the shower of sparks.

10/10 from me.
