I love the concept, why not colour and hard white light for the 'Mediterraneo' feel? That's a Greek word ,but you get what I mean it's about zest , contrast and cool.... jeff..

Hi Bob, I really like the concept and the image is very good. Just one observation; the white areas on the bread (flour?) look a little too blown out and prominent to me and tend to draw my eye towards them. It may be worth toning them down a little?

Good point David. In the black and white shot, the flour is pretty clear. Not so much on the colour version. Good call.

Hi, I really like your shot. The only problem for me was that you cannot understand it's oil in the plate in the B&W shot. On the other hand the bread does not look "mediterranean" in the colour shot. Bread is usually white. How about trying B&W but having oil and vinegar in colour?
Just a thought....

I agree in the b/w shot it isn't obvious that it is oil in the dish.Hi, I really like your shot. The only problem for me was that you cannot understand it's oil in the plate in the B&W shot. However I have had brown bread in Mediterranean countries, and I have to say it looks delicious.
I'd like to see the egg one in colour too. It doesn't do anything for me in b/w.

I used the K-5 and Sigma 105 macro. I lit the scene with 2x4 E27 bulbs mounted on light stands with umbrellas.
This was f4.5, ISO 1600 and 1/1000s exposure:
Would be interested in any feedback!
