Hello, all. I'm brand new to the entire world of digital photography. I've taken film pictures for most of my life and decided to upgrade. I just picked up the Pentax K-r, and so far I'm happy and excited to be using it. Still trying to work my way through f-stops, ISO, and the other technical terms, but am looking forward to it.

Thank you both for the welcome. I look forward to being a member here.

techno, I know what you mean. Usually a manual that thick indicates a variety of languages. *L* Oh, well. Learning by doing. I've looked at the tips on this site and a couple others, so now I'm going to start playine with the aperature (Av) and see what happens.

G'day and welcome - Av is a very useful setting, as you'll find for yourself.
