Boot sale bargain

On Saturday I succumbed to LBA again, after spotting a Tamron SP 90mm f/2.5 at the local boot sale.
At first I managed to resist, but after walking off I remembered there was a macro Tamron that matched those details that actually had a rather good reputation, so went back for a second look. The body was a little grubby, but sure enough it was a macro, so I asked for the price, saying that I thought it might fit my camera. Lucky for me it was only 1 - and the optics were MUCH cleaner than the body!

After getting home I found I had to switch the Adaptall mount. If I can find which mount was originally fitted I'm fairly sure I can get more than my 1 back for that on e-bay. A quick test tonight has confirmed the lens works just fine, so with a bit of careful cleaning it should be fairly similar to the ones I've seen on e-bay go for 100+

I think I might end up selling my Cosina macro...

Good find, I have that lens and it is a cracker.

I picked mine up second hand for 35 from Camera world but it is a very rough copy, loose focus ring and the PKA adapter was faulty but I was still happy.

Congratulations on your bargain find.

LBA can be a very satisfying pastime in it's own right and particularly gratifying when you score a bargain to boot. (pun intended)

Last week I picked up from ebay a Pentax-F 28mm f2.8 for the princely sum of 24.99 plus postage and it even came with a Hoya uv filter. I thought it might be rubbish at that price but after a clean up it looks excellent.

Sometimes you've just gotta be in the right place at the right time!

P.S. If you're short of a mount I believe Samson is selling a Tamron lens and adaptall-2 PK/A adapter over in classifieds for about 40.00. I've seen these adapters alone go for over 60 on ebay!

What you need are lenses, more lenses, bigger lenses, better lenses, faster lenses, and when you have these, your pictures will be perfect!

Thanks, I may get tempted by that.
I do have a PKA adaptall-2, and should have a couple of PK ones too, though the first 3 adaptall lenses I checked were all without any mounts.
I know I can easily get the PK ones for 10, but the PKA ones are definitely preferable.
