We had a topic about the body scanner that are placed in Heathrow lately, well the first scam as already being taken place The Sun
Schiphol (Amsterdam) has a similar device since 15 may 2007 and the USA is using them on some airports since April 2009 without any problems and Heathrow have them since 2 February 2010, any reason you can think off why it doesn't work in England?

At least I know why you're distrusting all the security measurement the government thinks off

The ones at Schiphol only show a computerised cartoonesque image of a person, not the actual image.
I think the one used in the story is also a scanner using x-rays, such as Schiphol uses for potential drug smugglers, not the like ones used for normal security.

Yes you're right Gwyn, the one at Schiphol is a Millimetre wave scanner and the one on Heathrow is a X-ray scatter.
They even use a program now and no one looks at the photos scanned any more, here is more about that link

Make you question why the UK opted for the X-ray scatter...

Probably cheaper, Stefan, though I don't know. Plus it gives the red tops something to write about .

That's the UK for you. Why do something properly when you can do it badly to save money?

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.
