and finally 9. Disappointed this seal wasn't sharper. Only saw it for about 3 secs. Still, I recorded its appearance

Geordie, do you know if the quayside or the harbour is the best place? Might pop down in the morning

I have seen it mostly in front of the alcan jetty but have seen it as far up as the coal loaders at the high ferry

Great set, Alan.
No. 8 is an absolute cracker. I really like the way the (perfect) reflection is coloured by the water.
I struggle with my 55-300, so I particularly thank you for letting us see this inspirational set!

Coker.
The more I look, the more there is to see!

Thanks Geordie, I didn't bother returning today as it was a bit dull and miserable. Weather was better yesterday morning, but I went to Tynemouth because I wrongly thought there was a photographic stall there on a Saturday.

And many thanks for your comments Roger, I had thought maybe they weren't considered worthy of constructive comment

Thanks Barrie - much appreciated. Might try next week then. All wasn't lost, I passed St. Mary's on the way, only taking my £15 Tammy 28mm for its first try out, and took some early morning handheld shots. Pleased with the results too

Is your Tammy the Adaptall 2 version? I have one, bought from the stall at Tynemouth. The first time I tried it by coincidence....link

Nice Barrie. Thats the one 28mm f2.5. I'll post a couple of mine shortly. We must have copies of the St. Mary's Limited Edition
