Blinkered Passion & Differing Points of View

Over the last year I have been commissioned to photograph at various equine events and have used various Pentax kit to undertake this work. Most of the time the K3 is ample, but sometimes I require longer glass and higher ISO's to get the images I am commissioned to take. As I am paid for my work, I would class my self as semi professional, I still have a lot to learn and develop photographically, but a photographer should be continuously learning. As I have had my equine work published and used commercially I guess i must be doing something right or perhaps i am just lucky? So when I make statements about where Pentax products need to be improved or fall short in terms of my photographic needs and requirements, Its odd that for some reason some forum members would seem to suggest and think that there are no shortfalls? Its also a shame that the assumption is made that all a photographer needs is a good eye and that kit is irrelevant, yes a good eye is important, but so is kit in relation to the task at hand. The point i am trying to make is that we should not let the loyalty and passion of a brand blinker our view of it's strengths and weaknesses. Open and honest debate about the good and not so good points of any brand is surely beneficial, so lets all try to keep an open mind, even if we disagree. Anyway on a more positive note, below is a very small sample of recent commissioned work using Pentax kit. I hope Pentax provide some new avenues to meet the needs of people who choose to shoot pentax. [
