It's a shame that all I can say is that it went back to Pentax. Would be interesting to know what they do with them though.
Let's hope that if I'm lucky enough to be considered to test another camera before release, that I don't go and get drunk and lose it in a bar!

I think the 31 ltd is a lens every Pentax user will always yearn for!..It may only be a dream for some,but a reality for the few!....it is a superb lens!......But saying that, the likes of the 50/135 and the 200 come close image wise!.....but I still want one!

Thinking about it, there is probably another more simple reason in that because the focal lengths are duplicated by the DA* 16-50 & DA*50-135, it never gets put in my regular camera bag, so it's never there to be used!
The question then is, is it laziness or a choice?

The best zooms are now nearly as good as the best primes; so unless they need the faster aperture of a prime, or a smaller, lighter, more discreet lens, most people are going to opt for a zoom, most of the time.
If you're most people, then sell.
Personally, I would find it easier to sell the 31mm Ltd than the 77mm. The only lens that can substitute for the 77mm as a portrait lens sans pareil is the 85mm. You more often need (in my view) a wide aperture for protraits than you do for the more general photography to which the 31mm is suited.
