Black Kites

Taken on the Kamogawa river Kyoto. The river runs through the city centre and the birds have become lazy and simply scavenge. I even saw on swoop down on an open air coffee shop and steal someones pastry off their plate.
My technique for birds in flight is rubbish but I quite like the two in flight even though I lost the wingtip in one.

You don't realise just how big they are until you're up close. The last was about the size of an average hen.

Great spot and I like the picture in flight as you say just a shame you lost the wingtip
