I've seen bendy lighting arms in the speedgraphic catalogue. Manfrotto 237
The question rises why they caught my eye!

I actually made a couple, which I still use occasionally, they were relatively simple to make, and cheap.
Alternatively as Doug says there is the Manfrotto 237 I thought it was a little long though at 21"
This one was made using flexible water pipe, clip lock I think its called? its used on CNC milling machines for directing cooling fluid onto the matal being cut. You can add a remove sections to achieve the desired length.

This was made from an old desk lamp with a flexible head

Stefan, the first one works quite well with a Pentax AF200T flash attached, light weight and flexible, the second one was a little less so, a bit top heavy and unbalanced with the 360 flash attached, I use them a lot less now that I have the ring flash.

Thank you Clarky.
I once also had the idea but the AF540 is just to heavy like you said and I was getting used to it by holding the flash in one hand and the camera in the other and simply use the pop-up flash to trigger the AF540 wirelessly.
I wonder if a simple flash stand might not be easier, something like a gorilla pod maybe?

If you were any good, Mike, you would have an assistant to do this sort of thing for you. Young, blonde, and comely.
But seriously, do you really need to attach the flashgun to the camera? You could mount it close by on a small tripod.

Thats a good idea for static objects but a little unweildy if you are chasing moving objects like bugs, and Mike likes his bugs I believe If you were any good, Mike, you would have an assistant to do this sort of thing for you. Young, blonde, and comely.

Ah. I didn't realise Mike was a bugg..., I mean bugman.
Bird people are birders, but it doesn't work for bug people.

Been very well, thank you, Clarky, other than a graunched knee which is gradually getting back to normal.
Summer has arrived in the UK, after a very cold winter, but I think we have had more sunny days so far this year than any I can remember.
Goodness knows if it will last.
