Really interesting set
#1 is particularly striking - gives a clear sense of the speed, and I like the intense focus of expression! Be even better if just a little more space on the rhs. Last one is also excellent - nice angle between bill and wing, and I like the B&W contrast on the wings ( juvenile??)
Not so sure about the 3rd one ( tangled body shape) and the fourth one (I find the oof vegetation too prominent and distracting).

Thanks Neil. 1,2 & 4 I used the DA300+1.4x, which is why 1 is tight with hardly any crop. 3 and 5 is the DA300 on it's own.

2nd and last ones for me too. A lovely set of beautiful birds. I am a tad envious.

Thanks for your comments.
I thought more people would go for the head shot. Is it just that one or head shots in general we don't like?

Lovely sharp set of photos.
Can I ask what camera & lens set up you used for these?

I think it's because we like to see the birds in context of their surroundings Barrie. Nothing wrong with the shot, it's nice and sharp, good colours etc., just not in context. Thanks for your comments.

A lovely set, 2 and 3 for me are my personal favourites.
