OK OK Alright already. I'm convinced 28-105 is the way to go when I have the pennies and the missus's permission. I can live with the Sigma MF 18mm (With built in filters) and the Vivitar 24mm lenses which I have. Any wider and I have the Sigma 10-20 and the Sigma 17-70 which I can use in crop mode. Thanks for the input each and everyone of you. All absorbed and inwardly digested. Now it's just a matter of time.
CHEERS Vic.

Anyone not minding MF and wanting a 28-105mm. The KIRON 28-105mm f/3.2-4.5 is excellent. I've had one for a few years and also had a Vivitar Series 1 28-105mm from new, but the Kiron is much better even though some Series 1's were Kiron made.

This ebay sale links to 8 full frame Sony shots......

Probably under £50

It's still rather expensive, even though it's got the ideal walkaround focal range (16-60 on APS-C).
All the gear with no idea

Would it not be 36-135 on a crop sensor

Now there's a new one. 24-90. Is it currant or older? I can only find it on ebay from Japan.

Thanks Barrie. It's old but was made for film. hence it's good for FF digital (K1) Still a bit pricey even from Japan.

I think the focal length equivalent conversion before (24-90 equals 16-60) is to indicate what zoom range would be needed on an aps-c camera to produce the same FOV as 24-90 on a FF camera.

24-85 or 90 is a fairly common range for FF. So I guess it's why we got the 17-70 and 16-45 / 50 lenses in the DA series.

I have a decent 24-90mm I may be willing to sell but I am away for 3 weeks from Tuesday.

If you are interested and still looking for one when I return maybe we can sort something out Vic.

The 24-90mm is a great lens. I have always regretted letting my copy go. I thought I wouldn't need it for digital, but here we are with our full frame cameras and we need it after all.
Best regards, John

Thanks for that John. It might be an old lens but it seems to have a good reputation. also good reviews.
