Yes, me too - very nasty.
Not the same as the gentler effect of the clipping I was referring to before.

Opened OK in PhotoPusX4 RAW Studio and NO banding ?

Got it one one ... well done.
I have faststone set to view raw as embedded jpeg for speed, if I set it to view the actual raw then the banding goes away.

Same for me. I think the banding is in the JPEG preview. It is there in Lightroom until I import it and the banding goes away.

Just come across this - had something similar with the K7 about a year ago using ACDSee pro3. When viewing a RAW file, a certain type of sky showed banding - but nowt in LR!
