As you say, great light, my favourite sort! Good job you had your camera, when I unexpectedly come across a scene like this I find it’s been left at home. Nice interplay of light and shadow here.

That was worth stopping for. Lovely bit of Victorian brickwork, beautifully lit.

Thanks both. Ayot St Peter is one of the earliest Arts and Crafts buildings and is lovely on the outside and gorgeous on the inside.

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Knowing the church and the view as well as I do, I would just wince every time I looked at it!

Good shot, Kris. This is one I visited a couple of years ago but sadly it was locked up. Still, the outside was worth photographing for its interesting shape and wonderful brickwork. The two nearby Ayot St Lawrence churches are also interesting places for photography.

It isn't open very often outside of services but worth it when it is. Here is a shot of the inside taken during Heritage weekend last year.Good shot, Kris. That interior is superb - classic composition coupled with excellent, soft and beautiful colours
