Aww the K-5 ii.....
Philip
I fully agree with your comments about the tilt screen Philip.
Having limited mobility a tilt screen is so useful for me.
Other than that as you say the ergonomics and handling are fantastic.
Kind regards,
Wayne.

Wayne, just to let you know your original K-5 ii is still in active use, and is also at the 3,000 mark now

My K5ii rarely gets used but it does come out for the local airshow. It typically shoots 3000 images a day during the airshow!

Great stuff.....I'm just a couple of hundred shots behind

If the new flagship APSC model features such a screen, I would seriously consider buying it. Hoping to get to Watford on 23rd November to check it out.
I have high hopes for the new APS-C flagship, as I do want some of the faster processing, better low-light performance, I just want it in the K-5 body!

Me too. Still using and enjoying my K-5ii, but it's time for something new, hopefully.

Hope springs eternal.

Pentax k1000, MX, ME Super, K5iiD 18-55, Tamron 70-300, Tamron 500 mirror, pentax 10-17, 50 1:4, a manual 28, some extension tubes and a bagful of memory cards. That's all i need... and a load of film cameras too... that's it, honest.
i've been looking at getting 2nd hand K-5ii as my current camare has contracted aperture block... what is so special about these, i remember when they came out everyone wanted one? do they still cut it? have they aged well? is it worth risking a 2nd hand one?

Classic sensor that's still very well respected (great dynamic range), upgraded AF from the original K-5 as well as one or two other little improvements. It's still worth the price and they're generally very reliable.
All the gear with no idea

I have not posted on here for a while. I have been enjoying other brands of camera which suit my style of photography much better i.e. touch focus...tilt LCD etc.
However I still kept my 18-135 WR lens and a couple of other lenses and was recently reminiscing about one of my fav Pentax bodies and one I regretted selling the K-5 mkii.
It fitted my hand like a glove and I just loved it.
I have been periodically searching for a replacement K-5 ii but nothing much really showed up, certainly not in great condition and low use.
Imagine my excitement when one cropped up "as new" at a great price. To good to be true. Well I now have it. Literally as new, less than 3000 clicks and a joy to use as I remembered.
Very happy indeed
