Avoiding the summer crowds in Cornwall

During the recent high winds the beach car parks were overflowing so I took to the high ground with the K1 and a bag of prime lenses for lightness, although I did curse leaving a long telephoto behind for the crashing waves and a peregrine falcon at eye level!

And a favourite from last month on the first outing of my new 77mm Limited:

Nice shooting Rob - particularly like the colours in that last shot

Nice. The prehistoric promontory Fort in No. 1 particularly catches this archaeologist's eye. Do you know which one it is?

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Panorama suits the first one very well. lovely, but the image is very small. Do you have a larger size ?

To give you a clue, this is what I see

. Thanks for looking, the problem is the size limit on PU but here is Flickr: link, but I think this is better: link

It is Pentire Point, a promontory of National Trust land just above Polzeath (which you see on the second pano which was on the walk back to the car looking west). The Rumps are on the left and a small island The Moules on the right.

Thanks Rob, the link to your own website works and the image is glorious.

800 pixels is a ridiculously small constraint. I always link directly from my Flickr page.

Thanks Peter, all credit to the 50mm f2.8 Macro lens which is beautifully sharp, I am so impressed with the level of detail when zooming in.

Wow, the first shot of Pentire Point just featured in Explore in Flickr, a first for me!

Really like the opening image. Would prefer a tad more space on the left hand side to balance it up a little but the composition for me is great

Thanks Gareth I think you are right, I have got more space on the left but I wanted to keep the path on the right intact and the cropping was very long and thin, but there is scope to move everything slightly. However over on Flickr it went crazy after being picked for Explore with 4.3K views so I can’t change it there.

Many thanks. The fort is "The Rumps" and was excavated in the 1960s and published in Cornish Archaeology in 1974, available as a free PDF download from the Cornish Archaeological Society's website. Lovely photo, I'm not surprised it was "explored".
