The abandoned croft is my favourite. That second stag must have been close to be able to achieve such a shot with the 16-50, well done.

Sorry Barrie, my mistake. Both the stag pictures were taken on the 50-135mm lens at full stretch - then cropped in some.
It was tripping it down and very misty on Rannoch Moor Gwyn but the light gave me some very rich autumn colours.

Mine too.
Have you tried photographing Suilven from the north - around Lochinver or the road north toward Clachtoll? There is a viewpoint/carpark 3 or 4 miles up the road towards Clachtoll. You'll need a clear day and a long lens.
Love the photos.

I like the deer shots. Was thinking about taking a trip up to rannoch moor with my wife to see if I could hunt down some deer to try out my new 300* on where did you take the photos from was it close to the main road or did you walk in? I read somewhere that glen etive is good.

I got these near the Kings House Hotel, just off the main road. The deer come down to the hotel look for food so you can get reasonably close. I used the 50-135mm lens and then cropped in close to fill the frame. The stag wouldn't let me get close but the hinds were less nervous.I like the deer shots. And yes, Glen Etive is well worth visiting. With a 300 lens you should gte some great shots.
