I went to an auction today intent on buying a fender clapton blackie strat

1x pentax f28mm f2 prime
1x f35 70 f2.8-3.5 zoom
1x f100mm f4 macro prime
1x pka 70-210 f4 zoom
1x tamaron 35x135 macro with pk adaptall 2
1x pentax a 2xs converter

Looks like some gems are in between them. How much did you pay (incl commission and VAT) if I may ask?
Kind regards

It's nice to be nice!

Pentax K-5 with D-GB4 Grip, to many lenses to mention by now (serious LBA by now), TC's, Lowepro Slingshot 300 AW, Manfrotto 028 & Redsnapper RS-283 with various Heads plus various Camera Clamps (I collect them). Pentax AF 360FGZ, Pentax AF 240FT, several Metz 45 CT-1 & 5 with stands and 'Blow Up' Soft Boxes, Flash Triggers, and various Macro gear.

If those are all genuine Pentax lenses you've bagged some crackers. The 28mm f2 (assuming it's an f2 rather than f2.8 ) is a bit rare, the 35-70mm zoom sounds like the M series version which is a little-known and slightly rare gem, the 70-210mm is a very well regarded lens and the 100mm macro is probably one of the best macro lenses you'll find for the money.

You could probably sell them on for much more than you paid, but my advice would be to have a play and keep what you find you like. I'd probably sell the ME Supers and the non-Pentax gear but keep the rest.

Was that a Fender that Clapton played some time or just a Fender they put his name on in order to more of it?

I recently bought the pka 70-210 and it's definitely good. Not expensive though, I paid 60-70£.

Are the light meters Pentax? If so you may be surprised at just how much they fetch these days...

That's a good buy geordie, If the ME supers work then, with a lens, they fetch good money on ebay.

You may want to keep the best MEs though, film seems to be making a come back on this site, I don't know why (ahem!)

About 30 quid each then. Genuine Pentax Spotmeters are selling for £250-350 each these days. Still, not a bad haul overall

What lens is on the Kodak Retinette? If it's a French made example with an Angenieux lens then they go for silly money too.

There is a K, M and an A series 28mm f/2 lens. All go for a premium, the K series one especially.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

If they're cased then for goodness sakes remember to open them up and air them regularly. Both lenses I've got with the original hard cases had a fungus problem, which I strongly suspect is due to the cases not breathing terribly well. Lenses stored in the open or in Lowepro fabric cases with a silica gel packet haven't had any such trouble.

I take it the 70-210mm is an SMC Pentax-A? If so it's a keeper.

As far as the ME Super is concerned it's probably down to the comparative size. I can fit an ME S, 40mm f2.8 and a couple of extra rolls of film in a coat pocket. Bit tricky doing that with my K-m even with the 35mm prime on!

Great pickup, I recently sold a K version of the 28mm f2 to a fellow in Spain for 450quid. Not sure if the M version will go for a comparable price.
