A small haven amongst the bustle of Purley Way near Croydon, the 'Waddon Ponds' is home to a fair bit of wildlife, including the more common squirrels and some rather large water rats!

Here's a few I got when passing through yesterday, with the K7 and Tamron AF70-300mm 1:4.5-5.6 Di LD

Hope you like them, thanks for looking

Really like the second one. Slightly unusual composition, but to my eyes it works really well. Nice dynamic range and colour depth, and the reflections work perfectly. Excellent capture.
K5. 35mm, 18-55mm, 50-200mm. Assorted old film stuff including a collection of early folding 120 things, and a much loved OM1 with assorted Zuiko glass.

The second one particularly is lovely with its rich colours and the detail is excellent
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

All great but 1 and 3 for me......just love the is it isn't it a Swan feel.....mixed up crazy photo that just makes me want to smile.

3 has that beautiful mix of subject and background both being distinct yet the sum of the parts is what makes it outstanding.

I think John should make you take a month's holiday now.......you've been posting too many good photo's lately and it has to STOP do you hear!!

Thanks also Mike, David and Terry .... Not my usual thing, but isn't it great when you head off to a location and don't really know what's going to come out of it? It was good light for the white swan ... Sunlight can be a real problem with that.

I'll be hard pushed to put the K7 down for very long though .... The only thing that would cause that would be getting a new K1 ... Unfortunately the K7 cannot retire just yet....
