Interesting images. From the *istD my choice is the 2nd image, and from the K10D the 3rd, although I would level the horizon (not the water).

Dramatic stuff from Teesside Gary. The Transporter Bridge is always a popular choice for photographers and you've done it full justice here. I like the way you tackled some challenging contre jour light and how you managed to control the flare. Also these remind me that the old *ist D can hold its own against many more modern cameras. I started my digital photography with one of these and I still have it.

Yes, these show off the *istD very well. As David says, it can still give a modern camera a run for its money. I still use my *istDS regularly.

An evocative subject and good time of day to photograph it ....I think there 2 with the bright sun and reflections in the frame have an extra atmospheric dimension to them.

CCD sensors, hard to beat when there's plenty of light. A very strong set, sharp, contrasty and detailed. We have a transporter bridge nearby in Newport, very interesting structures.

The K10D had a Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 and the *istD had a Pentax FA28-105mm f/4.

The weather was changing rapidly. Rained most of the day but as it cleared it seamed suitable for some contrasty shots.
