I believe there is more pp detail especially in the shadows which would enhance the B&W version

As presented - the colour one for me as well.
However, I would be tempted to have another go at a B&W conversion as I think that there's a really good mono in there waiting to come out.

Yes, the colour is very good .... It's got plenty of contrast and fine tonal gradations, so really, mono is not actually 'needed' here. It's a nice framing of this iconic scene and the cloudy, but interesting, sky has allowed a good dynamic range.

Would not worry too much how many times others shot a location. What counts is, this one is yours! Lovely shots. Color for me. It's a tricky mono conversion because of the brickwork. Think it would require much bigger black and white contrast for the bridge to look really good, which in turn could render the rest a bit 'overcooked' IMO. The color version is lovely as is

Normally I'd be drawn to monochrome but the colour version here works better.

The colour shot is the keeper.
Ashness Bridge. Never heard of it till this thread. Drove past it yesterday on the B5289 going north to Keswick.
So it's now on my "to shoot" list.

Thanks everyone.
I think the B&W would look better if I cropped out the right hand side and let only the bridge. Too much green on one side which gives no texture.
