Got mine in "pristine" condition on that same site 4 months ago for £37 shipped.
They are nicer than the knock offs and it's virtually impossible to find new in europe. People speculate on that.

The price for genuine ones went from expensive to ridiculous a couple of years back. There are a few threads about it if you have a search for them. Second hand, the prices Algi quotes seem about right. I'm always a bit paranoid about loosing mine as replacing it would be a bit pricey these days (and cost more than some of the lenses I use it for!).

The new price jumped from 30 to 70 a couple of years ago, which as Womble states, is utterly ridiculous for two simple pieces of metal.
I got mine second hand from a forum member for around 20 within the last year. I don't think I'd pay more than that as it would undo the benefits of being able to shoot cheap M42 glass.

i came across one made by kood it has a flange to depress the pin. some said that you can,t focus to infinity with the flange type but with this one ,when fitted to the body it is flush with the body mating face and the lens focuses fine at infinity. if you can find one it certainly makes using the old lenses easier, you are actually metering at the aperture you wish to use.

The flange is only needed on lenses that don't have an A/M switch and are too hard or impossible to modify such as some Yashica's.... even then the lens wasn't designed to work like that

There's a lot of expensive M42 glass as well such as macros and the excellent Tomioka 55mm f/1.2 at around £500

I have 2 of the above - both genuine Asahi Pentax and both in excellent condition. I had decided to sell one as they get very little use these days.
I had intended putting it on the well known auction site for £12 or £15.
However - I have just noticed that an identical one (only difference is it is in the original box) recently sold for £56. This seems extraordinary to me. Does anybody know what these normally go for?
