Around Newcastle with a K5

I wish I could say they are terrible so that I could stop wanting a K5 so much - but I can't! Very nice images David - I particularly like 'half time' (including the title) and the Cathedral window - very nice indeed - the clarity and colours are fantastic

No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more

Very strong colours and very sharp. I particularly like the first one.
Best wishes,
Andrew

David, I've just come back to the first one and realised just how good it is. Particularly considering you were just trying out your new camera! I'd love to see a high quality print made.
Best wishes,
Andrew

Another timely example

Another shot on the K5 of reflections at Eldon Square, Newcastle.
I'm finding with the K5 I have much less work to do in Photoshop after converting from RAW than I did with the K10. I've not had to do any noise reduction yet.
Thanks for your comments. Yes Andrew, some my latest K5 pictures will become A3 prints

A stunning collection David! I love the first one.
I too am finding I need to do less work in PSE then I did with the K20D. Another big plus for the K-5.
PS can you send some of those blues skies over on the next ferry please?

It wont work David
Your evil cunning plan to make us all feel inferior and sell you our newly aquired K5s
Tremendous shots everyone, except maybe No3 which has a horrible modern train on it and it looks like its leaning to the left slightly (probably optical illusion)
That first shot is a stunner.

Actually it has worked: I already feel inferior...that is, more than I did before David bought his evil toy!

The first one is an absolute cracker, well spotted and executed! There's a strange blob at the bottom right of the clock, next to the middle upright, which could perhaps be cloned out, but it's a great image. The stained glass shot is lovely too.

Taken with your usual aplomb David! The K5 appears to be a good match with these lenses.

I'm just as chuffed with your reactions as I am with the new camera.
A couple of comments:
Alan, yes the train on the bridge seemed to be slighttly skewed to me too but when I put it onto the distort grid it was perfectly level.
Jonathan: Yes there is an unsightly smudge in the first picture. It was a distorted bit of reflection which added nothing to the image so I cloned it. I carelessly overlooked cleaning it up. Thanks for pointing it out.
Gwyn: You can have some of our blue skies, the prevailing wind is from here towards The Netherlands and Scandinavia. Be warned though, there are gales and a lot of wet weather as well.
Tony: Who or what is Bromborough?

Cathedral window detail

The Swing Bridge picture was taken using a Sigma 10-20mm lens at 10mm. The remainder on DA*50-150mm lens, all handheld.
All at 200ISO except the Cathedral window, which was 400ISO. No noise reduction applied PP.
The Cathedral window and Half time are both heavy crops from the original images.
Comments are welcome.
