Sorry David, it doesn't float my boat.
I feel theres just way too much dark area, I know bright spots are supposed to draw the eye in an image but these get lost in the blackness here, not one of your best shots I'm afraid

I prefer this third shot and despite not being into over-manipulation of images would suggest having a go at re-positioning those lamps so they dont overlap the supports, maybe re-position the church spire too

I like the first and the last. With the first I'd be tempted to crop it on the righthand side through the pier to add a little to the symmetry of the shot.

I take your point about the position of the lamps Alan so I rearranged them a little. The steeple of St Mary's Cathedral stays put I'm afraid.
Kris, I think you could be correct about the right pier on the High Level Bridge.

Like the 2nd and (new) 3rd ones a lot!
The stairs one is great, the only niggle for me is the brighter steps halfway up the flight (from your flash I guess? not much you can do about that if so), and the slight tilt to the lowest steps.
I like the lines and contrast in the 3rd one. And I think moving the lampposts was a good decision.

Nice - I really like that one. I would be tempted to try moving the spire so that it's dead centre between the two bridge columns. If being very picky, I might point out that the third lamp is slightly too big - I think it was cloned from the leftmost one? I also like the metal stairs image, but I think the bin spoils it. A quick and dirty crop by scrolling it out of the bottom of the browser works well for me.

Not sure about the bridge shots David, the composition does not work for me, having said that if you cropped off the top of the Tyne Bridge leaving the bars lights and buildings the third one would be far more interesting. However the Stairs I quite like, it's possibly the different angles and blue/green metallic tones.
Still only my opinion.

The blue catches my eye ! The stairs too My eyes went like this
(I do not like the bin, so I think you made the right choice for the comp. But you would have kept your place )
