Roesel's Bush Cricket, yesterday.
Found while out with the dog first (ish) thing.
Went home, collected gear, still there!

Oh. & a Dock Bug as well!

K5, 100mm. D FA Macro.

Be pleased to hear any thoughts you may have...

Hey, you found a bug that not just stayed put but posed for you, too. What's the secret??? (says someone who spent ages yesterday chasing a camera-shy shield bug around a couple of flowers...).

Seriously, though, these are seriously good photos.

Roger has persuaded fish to pose for him before now! How he gets a cricket to wait for him to return is beyond me. They're jolly good shots, whatever.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

It was about 9.15 in the morning. It was bright & sunny but still not particularly warm, out of the sun.
The crickets, for there was more than one, were basking on the large leaves of comfrey growing on the roadside verge.
When approached, their fear of being predated overcame their need for warmth to "get going" for the day & they moved just under the edge of a leaf, out of the sun, for about a minute, re-appearing when the danger (me) had passed. Or, rather than passing on, the danger (me) remained, very still, K5 at the ready!

You see!
No smoke or mirrors!
No Dr. Dolittle.

Just advice heeded over the years & then acted upon!

Thanks for the interest shown & your kind remarks,

The more I look, the more there is to see!

Ah, that's where I'm going wrong. It takes longer for me to get going in the morning than a cricket...
