There is indeed, it's called 'Windows Live Movie Maker' and can be downloaded free from Windows website.
Another small program I use is 'Photostory' which is also free.

Michael

I can recommend "Pictures To Exe". I use this for entering the Photographic Society AV competitions.

If you don't mind buying some software, take a look at SoundSlides. I noticed a lot of the audio slideshows on the BBC news website are made with this software.

The problem with Windows Live Movie Maker is that it doesn't seem to have timeline which is essential if you are cutting to music although I may be wrong.
I can recommend the software in PSE if you have that, go into organiser and click on create and go down to the bottom of the list.
If you are looking for something really brilliant that will cut video too, you can pick up Sony Vegas HD 10 right now on Amazon for about £17 (previously £82) which comes with DVD Architect and Sound Forge.

I was going to recommend Pictures to exe, but Graham beat me to it.....
It seems to be the standard software for slide shows at camera clubs, and works very well.

Photoshop Elements (PSE) and Première Elements (PRE) package is very good. I use PRE for DVD and Blu-ray slide-shows set to music. I don't have any videos uploaded anywhere due to music licencing constraints though. It takes a while to learn how to use these packages properly.
If you have a Mac though, then it is much easier with iMovie although I don't know how flexible to tools are compared to frame by frame editing available in PRE.

I am hoping to start putting together some AV slide shows to music etc to show to the gathered clan at Xmas.
Does anyone have any programmes they recommend for this purpose.
I used to put together basic stuff on some software bundled with my old laptop. Now I have a new laptop and it seems there is something called "Windows Moviemaker" that might do the job.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
