All shots went through LR3b2 and then through CS4 or through a pre-release of a newer program. The HDR #5 and the photo with the HDR effect #3 are the product of that.

ps. I really should try to keep the size of my photos equal

Hi Stefan,

I don't know how you can do this. I mean switch from mode to mode with such aplomb. If I'm taking close-ups or kandscaoes that's all I can do!

You've produced such a wonderful eclectic set here. I like all of them except for the railway lines which doesn't work for me due to the post-processing. The shot of the glum man is terrific and the flock of pigeons beautifully realised.

Regards,

Andrew
Best wishes,

Andrew

What a great set. They have (to my mind) some sort of nostalgic feel to them although not sure why - I really like the pigeons, I think that one is the peach for me.

No 2 for me Stefan - your treatment of it is effective too.

Thank you all for your comments.

@Gareth, those are my favourites as well and the first and last one compete in the competition here.
Won first place with the last shot in the fortynight.

@Andrew, welcome back. Did you had a nice vacation and did you had a lot of troubles with the aircrafts not flying?

Thank you for the kind words. The first two were shot on the market and aimed to do portraits there but at the port of Antwerp we got more time to look for shots so that's why it gets so varied.

The railroad shot #5 was more an experiment then anything else, wanted to try out the new HDR capabilities of the software, in Cs4 you can't get this effect so easily but now all can be done in the HDR menu which is very nice.

@Mat, thank you very much i'm glad you felt a nostalgic feel to them it was the feeling I want to get into them... hopefully I can make it into a signature.

@i-Berg, that was one of the better shots I made. I saw the man and than realize I could form a boarder with the rest of the people standing there, I only took one shot since I knew I had the shot. I'm very happy that I made such a shot in such manner. Most of the treatment is done in Lightroom 3, only played with the contrast in CS4.

Guys and gals I'm making a portfolio, do you think I should include one of these photos?
I've a good idea about the rest of my photos but these are an exception.

I think #2 is well worth including, its a beautiful portrait which I think anyone would be proud to have captured.

I'm not enamoured with HDR shots in general though (just my personal view), but some people love them - so it depends on how you are aiming the portfolio really... are you looking at traditional photographic art or modern technical prowess?

Thank you Flossie, portrait would most likely be printed.
The HDR was for me a no go either except if everyone would tell me here to include it ^^

What do you think of the last shot?
I know quite a lot here liked that shot.
