That's random, but it has been mooted in the past. The Pentax K mount was hoped to be such a mount, but getting all those manufacturers to agree did not happen.could you imagine a world where lenses would fit ANY dslr camera?
The K mount was however widely used by a variety of different manufacturers.

that's why I posted in 'another pointeless thread', don't think there's an 'offtopic' thread here is there?
Other random thoughts:
boxing/martial arts photos look MUCH better in B&W for some reason.
why do so few people own Pentax dslrs? it's not as if they're worse that the leaders quality etc wise. Historical and marketing reasons I presume.
why can't all lenses have real macro built in. After all compact cameras can manage to inlcude 'macro' so it shouldn't be that hard or expensive to include...
Only recently did I think that it shouldn't be that expensive either for a lot of models to have more external fuction buttons. I upgraded from K-X to K-7 (love it even with that issue/limitation) and love the extra external controls/buttons (iso, focus area etc). So more models should have them. I don't buy the answer that a lot of models are for beginners who don't want those controls.
does Santa Claus get a present for Christmas? if so does he deliver it to himself

One thing about the pointless thread Pa - Photography talk is frowned upon.
