I rather have it all now and then having it nice from next month or so till September again.
I know you got it worth the we have it but I too cant wait to be able to go out from early morning again without freezing to the spot, being drowned or blown over a cliff.

Here its that fine rain that even creeps in to an underwater camera. No way I go outside today (unless there is an absolute need for it).

Looked like Beirut in the 70s outside my bedroom window this morning - it`s recycle bin collection day - 9-00am - sadly they hadn`t arrived and it was blowin` a Bob Dylan ( or Peter Paul and Mary )and several bins had been tipped over.
Shouldn`t laugh but the sight of neighbours running after pieces of paper was rather amusing and the cans and plastic bottles racing along the highway provided that "war torn" image.
Finally got collected after all at 11-30 and we are back to peace and quiet - at least it seems to be keeping the rain away !!

My final motorised two wheeler was via an ex WD Matchless 500cc single complete with sprung hub frame. I transferred the engine to an AJS swinging arm frame so that it went round corners. Sadly, the rider on two occasions, did not manage to remain attached to the bike whilst negotiating bends. Fractured wrist first time, broken ankle and gouged leg (requiring a skin graft) a week later. Riding a bike with a busted wing is quite interesting. The hospital was really p***ed off with me!
My Dad decided it would be sensible to invest £30 in a car. It was a 1947 Austin 10 with an 1100cc sidevalve engine and a 3speed gearbox. The dampers were so worn that the tyres rubbed against the wheel wells when cornering. I can honestly say that I had more fun in that car (in all sorts of ways) than any of the vast number of cars I've had since.
Those certainly were the days.....

Ah - memory lane time ............................. I never liked bikes after going to school ( Grammar )on the back of my buddy`s Beezer a couple of times - he always went left as I leaned right !! Tried a moped in 1976 and hated it after 30 seconds - sounded like a Philishave with gears.
My dad bought me a "sit up and beg" Ford Prefect - amazing vehicle in black with running boards and windscreen wipers that ran off the manifold.Indicator arms,and no synchro on first.60 mph,60mpg,and 60 miles to a pint of oil !
I too had great fun driving from Liverpool to Blackpool in 1962/63 as a student and boy did I learn to drive properly ? Built like a tank and polished with Brasso regularly.
Aaaaah ! Got a photo somewhere with me looking like a right *rat next to it in my pork pie hat and student scarf - but that`s another story
