The RSPB were pushy last time we went, that was february last year but weather permitting you should get some birds.
There's several good pubs around that do good food so you should be OK for sustenance.

Havn`t had any comments on eggs or other such niceties. Took eggs to the grandsons earlier today, staggering how they dissapeared so fast and before dinner too. I might not be the most popular grandparent!

Eaten too much chocolate today, why I buy it I just don't know!
Good race today, the champioship is wide open. It looks like it's going to be a good F1 season.
Forgot to mention that the bottles open and poured...

Had an unexpected but great lunch with two out of three sons, two D-I-Ls and 2 grandsons, at youngest son's new house.
My elder grandson isn't allowed chocolate so only real eggs for us today - a bit too fresh actually as they were laid yesterday. We had a nice selection of colours to choose from though as my daughter-in-law's chickens produce everything from white through beige to dark brown, plus green and blue eggs as well.
Too full too move now, and the lamb I had planned for this evening will have to wait for tomorrow!

H G, I never thought it possible to eat too much. He He! Yet to find my limit but it can`t be bad for us though. It comes from beans which grow on trees so it`s vegetarian and so it could be part of our five a day. can`t it?
Gwyn feel sorry for your elder grandson, great that you all have real eggs so he is not left out. I`m a veggie `cos I am unable to tolerate animal fats and have to eat hedge clippings and other veggie matter.

Cedric, luckily my grandson doesn't seem to mind not having chocolate. It is one of many foods he is not allowed, most he has never even tried. He has had chocolate and likes it, but accepts he can't eat it. Not bad for three and a half.
My son did have a Crunchie while the rest of us were outside playing football - and my Grandson saw the wrapper, and asked who'd had chocolate. When it was clear it was his Dad he said "Oh OK, was it tasty?"
Luckily he does like real eggs and really enjoyed the egg he had today - a special little blue egg just for him and just the right size. And of course he loved playing the old trick of turning the empty shell upside down and offering his uncle an egg .
Nothing wrong with being a veggie. Half my family seem to be veggies. I am veggie three days a week. Can't quite make it to seven though. Of course being a veggie by choice is different to being one for medical reasons, which I imagine can be quite hard at times.

Eggs, both chocolate and hens, don't last too long in our house.
My daughter ( her PU name is Honesty!) loves both.
She does scrambled eggs as a snack and enjoys omelettes.
As does the boss (she makes a great omelette!), me, I'll eat anything and no it isn't one of the five a day Cedric.
Neither is beer, which is a whole food.

Ah Lloydy - those were the days - I was chef manager and the owner was Ken Micah who ran the Albright Hussey at Bomere Heath. No microwaves or Gelato mixers in those days - and some amazing cheese from Oswestry Market.
Kynaston`s Cave was across the road and I used to go potting pigeons for the pot on a Wednesday afternoon with my BSA Airsporter. No dustbin collections,no mains drainage ( cess pit - don`t ask !!)and calor gas cooking.
Monday night off with a £5 bonus if we had had a good week - off to Shrewsbury for the pictures and a meal at the Berni Inn - and yes - change from the fiver - lol.
Robert Hardy used to be a customer and I drove my first armoured vehicle and articulated lorry in the car park too.
Been back since - no longer on the main road but still pretty good bar food.

Most of the snow has gone from the carpark, so I need to sort my summer tyres out now. Summer holiday also booked... roll on spring!

I am thinking of saving for a DA 40mm f2.8 Ltd. Mostly as it's the cheapest of the Limiteds, I like the design/field of view, and I quite fancy an autofocus prime. Won't be for a while, say two or three months depending on how much they're going for. My target price is £320, Amazon UK currently have them for that. Plus it's only 3x the average price of a used M 40mm and the DA is apparently a much better lens!
I'm still being told that old glass is full of imperfections and (even funnier) that new 3rd party zooms are better than my bundle of old Pentax primes. Thing is, there are only so many degrees of precision to which you can grind a lens. We might have techniques enabling us to push the glass further now (hence why there was never a Pentax-M 28-200mm but there was an FA version) but aside from coatings there are only so many ways you can manipulate glass. A good lens design will be timeless as the laws of physics do not change.
I think I need to crack on with finding some decent subjects to let my old lenses show what they can do on digital. It must be something to do with how Pentax program their sensors (as opposed to Sony...), as I don't seem to have any of the problems that I apparently should be having (aside from the odd out of focus shot!)
