I don't do painting Gwyn, that's Mrs HG's job.
She's been a star in the garden despite spiking her thumb knuckle in a carelessly dropped garden fork. She dropped the fork so..
...she got sympathy though, there was blood! she's currently sat nursing a sore thumb drinking the tasty Polish mead type liquor.
I get no sympathy for the bad back though, there's no blood!

Have you tried ["Polish Spirit" "Spiritus Rectifus" "Rectified Spirit"] It's 96% ALC and cures all pains in a very short time. You can also buy a similar spirit in Cyprus, and Andora. It's cheaper than gin in both places.
CHEERS Vic.

I hope Mrs HG's thumb is better soon it sounds nasty.
Vic are you supposed to drink that or rub it on the sore bits?
Clearly painting is women's work .
His Nibs painted one small patch of wall and complained about how much his back ached. I have painted an entire metal staircase, so bannisters and the metal framework (the treads are wood), including lots of fiddly bits and turns, could barely move but still managed to do the washing and cook the dinner. We are getting some new doors for the bedrooms so they will be my next project no doubt.
Neither of us is a gardener sadly, as our weed strewn patch testifies. We will have to get out there and tidy it up soon though.

If in doubt, plant concrete. That is what I do.

We have a nice new lawn, hebaceous grit.
That's gravel, and very nice it looks too. Mrs HG's thumb's still a little sore, but she's getting over the shock/pain.
As for the Polish stuff, very nice and a little like a sweet sherry. My Polish workmate Emile gave me the bottle as a combined thanks for lifts to work and birthjday pressie. I like Emile, he also gave me a bottle direct from Poland for Xmas, proper Vodka with a good bite and taste.

I want to get away for a few days in the campervan, but things keep getting in the way, not least the rubbish weather.
The dog is the current problem, he was operated on a week ago and now the wound is infected, so he is on antibiotics, and the stitches probably won't be removed as planned on Thursday.
Next week sees the start of school holidays here, and three bank holidays in quick succession (Kings Day, Ascension day and Whitsun) so no point in going away then either. Plus the plumber is coming to fix the pipes at some point.
Was hoping to get to England in May but that doesn't look likely now.

Yeah, life stuff gets in the way too often. Every year I vow to take more time off but it doesn't seem to happen, maybe some nice weather will encourage me!
