Thanks David , i'm moving up from a Panasonic FZ-38 which was great but i had a bit of extra money and decided to take the next step .

And Highly addactive I look forward to seeing some results in our gallery but you are in good company here I dont have a Kr but a good friend of mine has and I have one on my list to replace a K7 as I rate the Kr very highly

Darren - I think you've made a good choice there!! I recently bought a Kr as well, and I'm slowly getting to grips with it (I don't get too much time with it due to the fact that I'm stuck in an enclosed office). I'm going up to Glasgow on Xmas Eve to visit family, so hopefully I'll grab a few shots with it! If, like me, you sort of "lost" your enthusiasm for photography (I had a Pentax iST 35mm SLR prior), you'll find that you will succumb to the KR's seductiveness very quickly!!

I'm actually quite new to the game but i thought the Panasonic was a great introduction , i was very tempted by the new FZ-150 but in the end i decided to take the SLR route . The great thing about digital for newbies is that you can take endless photos, and either photoshop them to get something half-decent, or if you take the lazy route, press that little magic button that says DELETE! It doesn't cost you a brass farthing to do so. Having said that, there's a lot can be said for good old film!.. With film, you put a bit more thought into your composition due to the fact that you've just spent close on a fiver on a roll of 35mm, then you will pay about the same again to get it processed in a high street shop.
I'm sure you'll quickly get to grips with Pentax, and your Kr will give you the kind of results you only ever imagined. My missus was a bit "scared" when she was trying to use my (now deceased) Pentax iST 35MM camera, but she treats the Kr like a toy!! She's currently photographing any inanimate object imaginable in her quest to master depth of field. If you happen to be browsing the gallery here one day, and spot a tin of beans or something, don't bother looking at who's posted the pic - it'll be my beloved!!
