Jessops slippery slope I think all it needs is Canon or Nikon to demand money up front and IMO goodbye Jessops.

It's Jessops on the ropes not Sigma. They are probably telling Jessops they must pay COD. It seems they are in deep S***. How sad.

I see the flashgun that they offered us at half price then failed to deliver is now advertised again at full price.

I would rather jessops survive, but their business model is based on those venture capitalist scheme, like the ones that bought the AA then gave it loads of debt, doesn't make sense long term to me.
if I was running a store I would be reluctant to buy stock at the moment with such large changes in prices over the past 6 months, might get saddled with lots of expensive stock you can't shift - perhaps it's nothing more than that ?

Could be I suppose but if I owned that store I would have at least one of each of the most poular lenses in stock to show buyers. This originally came from someone who went into a store to buy a Canon fit 17-70mm ... not exactly a minority lens or mount.

I'm still waiting for a film I took to get developed.
10 working days they said, three weeks ago!

I can't see why Jessops were the only firm who could develop a particular film - what type of film was that?

Kodak pro 120 jobby, the only other professional lab was a 20 mile drive away.
Next time I'm buying Ilford B&W, that can be handled by my local independent store.

You don't need a professional lab to process pro film.
Professional film is released at it's "aim point" - in other words at it's mature state, so should be refridgerated at all times before use.
Amateur film is expected to age and mature on dealer's shelves at room temperature, so does not have the same optimum balance of speed, grain, colour, etc.
That's the major difference and it has no bearing on how it is processed, or who does it.
