It's quite interesting to follow a thread in progress.
It has gone from Jessops not selling Sigma lenses to the ins and outs of processing film

yep, 'fraid to say Jessops are on the ropes

The store closures dont seem to have been enough, a friend of mine has recently been made redundant as their lab manager - as it would appear to be false economy to have a shop with two managers (one for lab and another for shop)

I'm only going by what I was told John.

The other shops I tried said" Oh! can't do that one, you need to go to..."

Jessops just sent it to their labs.

They were misinforming you HG, probably through ignorance. The mail order processors might be a better bet.

It sounds as though Jessops acepted your film in ignorance as well. Let's hope it doesn't come back with the message, "We don't do 120 films"

Fingers crossed!
Best regards, John

I dont like Jessops only because they sold me a second hand camera once and then tried to say i had used it. Only when i took the camera out and turned it on and showed them the pics in the built up memory of the sales chap pulling funny faces did they refund me. Silly behaviour as i would never shop with them again.

If they do that to lots of other people then you can see why they are on their arse.

Most, I say Most of Jessops staff these days as long as they can speak and turn up to collect their wages, (part time or should I say limited time, in more and more cases), and no photographic skills whatsoever, and are trained to say “You want one of these” and hand you a “starter” Canon/Nikon camera, when you ask for a semipro body.
Why are Jessops so rubbish now? When years ago you could walk into a Jessops store and ask for a reversing ring, and not be told “the jewellers are next door”.
Try it some time, If you can come out of the shop door without laughing.
I rather think the demise of Jessops is sad really but I will be first in the queue for some sale gems, that is if I can beat Mike P.

Not ALL jessops staff are brainless, I keep coming across the odd employee who does know his stuff!

Trouble is they're getting fewer and fewer, leading to the "Pentax? Who are they?" brigade taking over.
Cheers, HG

Many of the experienced staff have been or are being made redundant.

The size of that shop a tin of paint and a brush will do a refit.
