Now why did I know that was a Scottish church?
Looks good to me. It's not quite centred, but I'm being picky.

It looks good to me - like what I imagine I would see with my own eyes if I were in that church. But I'm not a fan of HDR, some might like more "bling".

It looks good to me also, I do not like the HDR conversions that go over the top.

It looks to me as though there are a few HDR's here,
Photography Winners
Some people obviously think they are acceptable

Good grief. Emmanuel Coupe's picture (first link) looks like something you would get at Woolworths.

Well it seems I've got it almost right, one thing is for sure and that is I dont like HDR
The software tends to exagerate saturation and contrast, it may well even out the exposure but at the expense of looking like a scene from Chernobyl
I think I'll stick to using the software for balancing out exposures.

Your probably right George, I was rushing to get the tripod set up and five exposures taken before another bunch of tourists came in, plus I think theres some distortion from the lens (16-50DA*) on the wooden rail at the bottom of the image, though I do have them as RAW files so may be able to correct that with another attempt

This is an interior of Balquhidder Church in the Trossachs, probably more famous for the grave of Rob Roy in the churchyard.
And yes, the ceiling beams do look a bit on the dark side but that is a result of toning down the brightness and saturation to get the carpet looking a reasonable colour.
