Decided to bring my sigma 105mm macro to the zoo - to test it's quality as a prime.

Just looking at them here at work. A big difference form screen to screen I see.

To bright here (the tigers heads are burnt out ??? I'm sure they were not on my laptop yesterday). Anyone else think they are to bright. Lost a bit of color here... hmmm

Yes thier faces do appear to be a touch blownout and the colours are a little flat. But sharpness is quite good.

Nimitz,

Your animals look great on my monitor. I cannot detect any burnouts. But surely the histogram would tell you more about the exposure than any more or less well calibrated monitor?

Must get myself some decent glass...

I did play with levels - but Im sure I did not burn the white...Have to check tonight...

Tigers' heads look Ok on my monitor.

The bird's head is peril of burning out but even that has some detail in it.

Thanks. I checked them in PS last night. All good.

This screen at work is not good - or calibrated....so much details lost.
