Another Anglesey mini-tour

Weather forecast was good yesterday so out of bed early & off to Anglesey again, main objective was to catch a decent Penmon lighthouse shot - managed a few others too

Love the 3rd one, atmospheric with great tonal values

no 3 is great!

no1: the wave splash is good, but distracts from the lighthouse.

no2: the light house is too central, I'd crop to have it in the left or right third of the image.

no 4 is pleasant enough, i don't know how it could be improved though. maybe there is not enough going on?

3rd shot is a cracker.

I love em' all. Just the thought of being there does it for me and I think that's all photography should be.

Thanks for the comments - to be honest I have around 20 different shots taken of the lighthouse, spent 1.5hrs there just watching the tide - pretty impressive (& colder than it looks in the photos too!!)

The 3rd shot was one of the "spur of the moment" ones. I was walking around Beaumaris looking for something to shoot & it just appeared infront of me & then disappeared with 2 minutes.

2 & 4 are basically very good but the horizon is too near the centre. In both cases try cropping the sky by 30-40% - it makes quite a difference!

Like your shots of Penmon and the one of Beaumaris pier. Is the fourth one Llanddwyn?

You make me quite envious, I was on Anglesey yesterday but at the other end - Holyhead, visiting my father, and the weather was attrocious. We were in Beaumaris and Penmon in June along with hordes of people. I was going to post one of my shots of Penmon lighthouse but I've just noticed it's got a dust mark on it

Thanks for the suggestions - I've cropped the 4th shot as suggested, definitely works better.

As a follow-up to this thread I've created a new one hoping for peoples thoughts/preferences of the lighthouse shots
