Animated Avatars

We seem to value clean, uncluttered images. Criticism is often made in response to parts of an image that may distract from the main subject.
So is it only me that gets a little distracted by animated avatars that jump around at the edges of the forum postings?

Will the next stage be a blast of music thro' your speakers too? No doubt that is already available. I think I would go for a belt of captain beefheart, ella guru perhaps. Marvellous, I cant wait.
BTW, my case is weakened by the classy shots posted by some of the serial offenders.

Movement in one's peripheral vision is an instinctive "danger signal", so not surprising it's a bit distracting

Personally I think it's a bit inconsiderate - particularly that one with the bug running around...
