An enjoyable day all the same. despite the weather. I think the Heritage Centre could best be described as a work in progress, gone are the days when you could walk round the engine shed at Carnforth's Steamtown. Anyway here's a few of mine, nothing very inspirational, at least the Siggy 10-20 got a long overdue outing:

Some keepers in there Cliff. While it's heartening to see those heritage assets that are in good nick, it's sobering to see what is rusting away, neglected, alongside...

Your photos have made my mind up - I must visit the Crewe Heritage Centre. Is Royal Scot about to return to mainline duty soon?
David.
PS has anyone been to Steam at Swindon, the Great Western Museum in the former railway works. Its a fantastic place to visit for anyone interested in railway history.

I hadn't realised there was a steam special this weekend. I was out taking some photos of the last one I knew about, but the catenary on the WCML gets in the way unfortunately.
