I found it quite a difficult sport to photograph, some of the players never touch the ball so if you're not careful you just end up with loads of photos of the quarterback and running backs.
Like all the other sports photography I suppose it's a case practice, practice and more practice.

A well captured, colourful set with plenty of action going on.

I agree with all the above points, great action and sharp, plus nice colours - a most interesting set , even for a non-sportsy person!
I think some parts of the white tops on the players have blown out a bit, maybe something to consider with metering ... lucky they weren't getting married

I've just had a look in LR at the histograms for the photos and none are showing blown highlights :

The whitest patches have the appearance of having been overexposed, but then reduced in processing .... This may be the result of the camera processor automatically compressing the range at conversion. The histogram you see is after compression. That's just the impression I get from the appearance.

Do you think you could get away with, perhaps, a half stop less exposure generally, just to secure those whites, then just brighten them a little on the computer ... You'll get a bit more shutter speed as well.

I quite often do on really bright days and if the teams are wearing light and dark shirts. If there is a two on one tackle and the two players are wearing the darker shirts quite often the lighter shirted players shirt will blow the highlights slightly so I tend to underexpose my sports photos on bright days.

The composition of the first one is superb the only downer is that it's a little bit tight to the left edge.
The subject matter ( not a 'sport' I like either ) is on the whole rather comedic with all that foam stuffed under their shirts though. And "Football" ? Should be called "Handegg".
