T9 is brilliant. It's like learning to ride a bike. You got to trust it. I'm writing in T9 now, and its as easy as typing. And it makes you type the correct spelling or it doesn't recognise the word. Get it wrong, and you have to back up and start again. This is why text-speak is dying out.

Perhaps people with bad experiences of T9 just can't spell very well!

I NEVER use predictive texting - I never say hello and I never say goodbye - it`s an electronic postcard or a telegram ( ask yer dad ) a simple way of communicating quickly and regularly - why the problem ?What next - predictive f*rting - it knows you want to but waits `til you`re outside of the courtroom ?
Predictive speech - could sound like Tyrett`s Syndrome.
Predictive Photos - click the button but it waits until it likes the shot ?
Sheesh....................take a chill pill guys and gals - life does not have to be about speed every day.

That could be your problem. I got an "A" and I can use T9 just fine.
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

I do also remember that I was once young and competent with the Commodore PET computer. Ha Ha.
So do I.
Actually, I was formally taught programming in my second year at Uni (at age 50, no less ) on a Commodore Pet. Back to the room, do the exercise on my Apple II, into the department the next morning and convert into Commodore Basic, and save the file for the Lecturer to review.
Little did I think that only 12 years later I would be teaching Human-Computer Interaction at Masters level (brag).
Now I have to figure out why I got the WB wrong on some indoor shots this afternoon. Oh this modern technology.

Paws or feet Techno? My furry friends reckon you can't have both.

Jeff - did you ever work for Thales?

The front [ higher ] ones are paws

The lower ones are feet

Never understood why people are so dumbfounded by predictive text.

As a concept it is simpler than "standard" texting.
My trouble with predictive text is that it seldom predicts what I want to say. As for the grammar checker in Microsoft Word don't get me going....

There's something we can agree on.

Seriously though with T9, if the word you want isn't the first one up, a simple press of a button gives the next most common word.
