Horse chestnut new leaves development, on the same buds as the one featured in my Gallery picture of 01.01.18!
Kept on the conservatory windowcill in water since then.

It's a good thing, is a sticky bud!

Flower "candle" inside this one!

Love the isolation! I think these would work better as a square image as that branch takes a lot of the space up in the image and isn't the main focal point

Gareth, I wanted to keep as little of the twig as possible in the frame, but still show the leaf scars, which are the key to the first part of the trees' common name.......
