advice, please. re faulty onboard flash

Advice please. I have the misfortune to purchase a K20 body, privately, and now discover that the onboard flash is not working. Not the most obvious function to check (lesson learned).
A Pentax user has spent a morning with me checking the settings, without success.
I have phoned SRS and received their usual high quality response. They suggested that I get round any possible settings by reverting to factory settings. No Joy!
They gave me a Pentax Support phone number but that was out of use.
I am looking for advice and possibly details of a repair firm that is trustworthy who would check and deal with the problem.
The auxillary flash socket is functioning correctly. Would this suggest that the bulb has failed?

I'd go to Pentax Uk and click on 'after sales'. That will take you to the contact details for Johnson's Photopia. But since the repair will cost, and the on board flash is fairly limited, maybe a cheap flash unit would be the answer?

You can buy an AF240Z for around £25 tops, or something like an AF200T for less. Both will work in program mode on a DSLR, the AF200T also has manual power settings which may be useful. I doubt a repair would be cheaper, and the AF240Z with a £4 diffuser from ebay is a very handy piece of kit.

Just bought a AF240Z for my son's *ist DS for £10 off ebay. Works lovely in P mode and gives bounce flash.

Thanks, guys. I have the AF 280T flash and yes, it does work fine but there are times when you need a fill in flash. You do not want to be always carrying this flash unit with you.
The resale value of the body is now compromised. I need to explore how and how much the repair will be.
I know that reputable repair agents has been mentioned on here before and was looking for recommendations. Maybe, even, someone who has had a similar fault.
