Has anyone noticed a link between what your reading and the ads on the right of the screen?

This might be coincidence but I was just reading posts mentioning Cyril the Squirrel and I got the Freeview ad with the Squirrel in it, recently when reading Gwyns post re-the passing of her dog I got an ad for Pedigree Chum.

I wonder could we all start chatting about dancing girls

It's Google's 'Adsense' at work. It looks for keywords in the body of the webpage and displays a 'relevant' advert.

I don't see the ads thanks to Ad Blocker Plus, but yes it is Big Brother Google watching you.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Adblocker!... You bunch of ingrates, you! - Yes, the ads can be blocked, but I consider it jolly unsporting!. This is a free site for us, paid for by the ads, so I consider it my duty to at least glance at them occasionally.
No man is worth his salt, who has not been banned from at least one Forum, and two Flickr groups.

I had too many adverts on sites that slowed the browsing experience down. I have google ads on my own forum to reduce the hosting fees a bit ( certainly no profit in it ), but I even block them with Adblock Plus myself.

Animated gifs are the worst for slowing your computer down
especially if there are a lot of them.
