It appears that the standalone version does get updated too, and it's not just with camera RAW updates (http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2016/01/lightroom-cc-2015-4-6-4-now-avai...).As a slight off topic; does the standalone Lightroom get updated from time to time with features, or is it just with the camera RAW it supports?
6.4 appears to be the latest version, I'm just downloading it as we speak
I've been debating the purchase for a few months, but after trialling On1 Photo RAW and deciding that it's not quite in a state that would work for me (although I think it will be a great product in time) and the recent price hikes, I decided that the Standalone version may well be increased soo so took the plunge

It appears that 6.8 is the latest version after the update has installed !....6.4 appears to be the latest version, I'm just downloading it as we speak

Discussions seem to suggest that new "features" are not added to the Standalone version - I don't have enough knowledge to comment on this as yet!
Sorry for the out of date info

Thanks Lenny
I did wonder about whether they upgrade the feature set or not. I have LR 5.7 - think I might stick with ACDSee as an all embracing programme (except they haven't catered for Pentax RAW from the later models yet!)

robi, for £100 on CC you are getting Lightroom and Photoshop for 10 months or there abouts,. £10 a month equates to 1 pkt of ciggies, if you smoke or a couple of pints if you drink, lets get it into perspective, it really is a trivial amount
Trivial anounts add up and all those months and years count for naught if you stop. Probably of value if you photograph commercially but my post processing is pretty basic and I'm not interested in tricks, so to me it's not worth it.

I use Adobe Creative Cloud and pay monthly so its not painful, even with the small price rise. Photoshop came bundled with Lightroom which I had never used, and still haven't because for some reason I can't open it up on my computer. That doesn't bother me as Photoshop does everything I need.

Meantime. If you aren't after the latest lens/body profiles DxO 9 is currently available for a free download.
I use it and love it.

Thinking about downloading it myself but have not found a conclusive answer as to whether it handles DNG files straight from a Pentax camera.

I normally send a TIFF from LR.
BUT, I have been shooting this morning and opened up DNG files direct from the card in DxO.
I just selected the DCIM folder from the list and clicked. The images opened up in the film strip and I was able to edit.
Hope that helps.

However NOT supported in DXO9 are: K-3ii, K-70, K-S1, K-S2, K-1 despite them saying they are in that compatibility chart so these will need a newer version.
If it helps anyone, the MX-1 is supported, the only Pentax compact.

I'll repeat this list of DXO9 cameras supported that I posted in the other thread,
http://cdn2.dxo.com/sites/default/files/2017-01/DxO-OpticsPro-9-Supported-OS-and...
It actually doesn't show the K-3ii but good to know its compatible.
