in the Custom menu
1. EV Steps should be set to 2: 1/3 EV
&
2. Sensitivity Steps should be set to 2: As EV Steps

Those are not default settings because the default settings are always #1 as far as i know.
Bingo! That second setting, Sensitivity Steps, when moved away from the factory default like you suggest got it.
I now can toggle through all numbers in all modes. (might get tiring though!)

Like I said the first, 1/3 EV, is a factory default #1 anyway.
1/2 EV is non-default #2 in the list.

They might have changed that with a firmware update then.

Just been having a play with the K-r in manual mode. I can click iso on the control pad and use the wheel to adjust it, but the iso value is not displayed in the viewfinder so have to pull back and use screen. Not the end of the world but seems an easy feature to have been implemented (you can change shutter and aperture without leaving viewfinder, why not sensitivity given it is third part of exposure equation)
Well at least now you've a reason to get a K5.

K-x behaviour here:

- In all modes except Manual, ISO is displayed and dynamically updated at bottom right of viewfinder.

- In Manual mode, that same viewfinder screen position displays dynamically auto-updating +-EV values instead.

Is K-r same as that?

I find the K-x displays quite useful, really and never miss the top panel. It's as easy to use in full manual as one would expect of a camera constrained to a single dial.
Listen to my albums free on BandCamp. Or visit my main website for links to photography, etc.
