If it really is K fit it will fit without any adapter.
Any chance of posting a picture of the bayonet at the back of the lens?

That doesn't look quite right, but could just be the way it's photographed. How does the mount compare with other Pentax K lenses? I presume you have a kit lens?

Well it won't lock because there is no radial groove for the locking pin to slide into. Ergo, it is not a Pentax fit lens.

Thanks for all the comments, it would seem i have been sold a bummer. Looking at the Lens properly, its a sigma, not a pentax as quoted. So i assume its a no go.Oh, yes i do have a kit lens, but thought i would try something different.

does it work when fitted? Is it a T-mount by any chance?
If it fits, works, and was cheap, just drill or dremel a locking recess...

it says its a k mount. No it will only fit in the recess but will not lock. As for drilling,as i said i am a rank novice, so would not know where to start. Thanks anyway. Hopefully the seller will take it back.

It's not a PK mount but if it fits in the recess it MAY be possible to use it anyway.it says its a k mount. No it will only fit in the recess but will not lock. As for drilling,as i said i am a rank novice, so would not know where to start. Thanks anyway. Hopefully the seller will take it back.
You'll have to change your cameras menu setting to shoot without lens (I don't know why this defaulted to 'No') if you haven't already. It is quite likely the focusing distances will be wrong as the rear flange distance of this unknown mount may not match the PK's 45.46mm, but many mounts are reasonably close so you might be lucky.
Looking atthe mount there appear to be NO linkages mechanical or electrical, so the lens will only function as in Av, M & B modes, with manual focus, what-ever camera it's used on.
If you brought it on-e-bay (and probably the case in any event) the lens is not as described so they have no option about refunding you.

Wording is as: Sigma Wirerama-y8-1:35-f=18mm T720401030. As i said that not how it was described to me. There is no bayonet.

y8 (is that not YS) seems to indicate that it's Sigma's adaptall type mount.

Difficult to find and the apertures had to match.
There was also an earlier Sigma IC mount.
