My Z-1 manual shows the socket cover to be the 'FD' type (for comparison the SFX was the 'F'). IIRC the Z-1p had a slightly different finish to the Z-1 (slightly bluer and possibly with a different texture?), but the 'FD' cover should fit fine (given the info in my manual).

The Z-1p cover has an extreme curvature to blend in with
the streamlined contours of the body.
The SFX was flat and square to the body. It rises slightly
at the top so that it can be prised off with a thumbnail.

THanks to both Johns. I have both cameras and the difference in finish is quite remarkable, to such an extent I cosset the Z-1p and chuck the Z-1 about... would you post an image of the outer surface so that I can be sure it's for the Z-1/Z-1p (I don't mind what finish it is).Apologies for the delay in replying, we've been distracted by a couple of family events, but also thanks to John for filling in the information!

The Z-1p and Z-1 use the same cap it has a slightly speckled
black finish. I've got both cameras as well as the SFX and SFXn.
