A Wonderful Wife

I've been looking at the SMC Pentax-F 17-28mm f/3.5-4.5 Fisheye Zoom on ffordes website for quite a while, and then I had a birthday. I already had a Wonderful Wife, and she bought it for me.

It works brilliantly on the K-1, so I'll look forward to posting some pictures very soon. It was labelled Ex++ by ffordes, but it's actually spotless, so that suggests we can buy secondhand from them with confidence.

Best regards, John

She sounds wonderful. My wife is wonderful too but more likely to say “not another b****y lens!”

£199, which we thought was rather less than the new one is likely to be.

Great deal.

I managed to snag one myself - very surprised at the sharpness of the lens. It's a beauty (in terms of IQ, maybe not design).

I always thought the F series were a bit ugly, but this one is a sort of hybrid design that looks a bit like an FA series lens. The FA lenses I thought had cleaner lines.

However, the one shot I've fired off so far showed plenty of keen sharpness, although some clearly visible CA. Unfortunately I took the shot before Sue had tidied up, so I'm not allowed to show it!
Best regards, John

I sent that post without completing it - there is quite a bit of CA but I believe it's of the easily fixed variety. It's a very sharp lens indeed. Looking forward to comparing it to the DA 10-17, maybe even with the DA in FF mode.
