Terry,
You have the choice. Lightroom can handle PEF. If anything can't then Adobe's standalone converter will turn it into DNG.

Mike,

Sure we did! It's just that we're too kind to mention them!

Seriously - what problems?

I had to apply loads of Gaussian blur to the background areas around the car as it was all in pretty good focus, I had to lighten the guy's face considerably which stilllooks a little odd to me and I think I have ended up with a slight halo round his shirt in some places. There is also the small area within the windshield wipers that I couldn't sort out and is an odd colour partially as a result of my work.

But hey I don't care because no-one who has seen the image has mentioned it unless as you say they're far too polite!

My next step is to clone out the area just in front of the visor as it is a nuisance.

I'm trying to have a bit of go at getting my technique sorted out so that I am at least competent at the technical stuff and can then move on to the creative work.

Mike,

Now that you've mentioned all this - what a crappy photo!

I build mahogany sea kayaks, which everyone sees as works of art.

Apparantly, I'm the only one who sees the flaws.

Unless my friends and customers are exceedingly kind.

Nah...

They find fault with me in every OTHER way

It's a good shot, you made it better, be proud!

Cheers,

And the car in the background viewed through the front quarter-light (if that's the right word for it). You've forgotten to apply the blur to that bit, and it's a lot larger than the area by the wipers.

Otherwise nicely done. But get yourself an FA50 1.4 and save yourself a lot of photoshop time!

Yes I noticed that as well but having had a few disasters en route where lots of work was lost I didn't revisit it!

I could have opened the lens up to 2.8 but then I think I might have lost the DOF required for the driver and car door.

At some point I'll get the 50/1.4 but I have yet to assess my latest acquisition a 35mm f2

Thanks for the kind comment.

Mike
